Sonos has officially taken the wraps off its latest, the Arc Ultra soundbar, alongside a new and improved Sub 4 wireless subwoofer.
In a reveal following weeks of leaks, Sonos aims to push the boundaries of home theater audio with a 9.1.4-channel setup, Spatial Audio support, and advanced sound-enhancing tech. Here’s everything you need to know about these premium sound upgrades coming to a living room near you.
The Sonos Arc Ultra is a step up from the beloved Sonos Arc, boasting a hefty $999 price tag but packing a punch with premium features. With a revamped 9.1.4-channel system and Spatial Audio technology, Sonos is upping the ante on immersive soundscapes, allowing users to experience every layer of audio from all directions. At the heart of this audio beast is Sonos’s new Sound Motion transducer, a feature that may have been inspired by Mayht, a startup Sonos acquired in 2022. According to Sonos, this new transducer provides twice the bass depth, enhancing the listening experience with richer, more resonant lows.
Inside, the Arc Ultra packs serious specs, including 2GB of RAM, 8GB of memory, and an array of 15 Class-D amplifiers, all fine-tuned to elevate audio clarity. With two inward-facing 8-inch woofers and advanced WiFi radios, the Sub 4 is built to provide both power and connectivity, reducing idle power consumption by 50% compared to previous models.
Unlike the Sonos Sub Mini, the Sub 4 can pair with multiple Sonos devices simultaneously, making it compatible with the entire Sonos lineup, including the Ray, Beam, Era 100, and Era 300 speakers.
