Focal has unveiled its newest creation, the Diva Utopia—a sophisticated, two-box wireless loudspeaker system that seeks to redefine high-end audio for modern living spaces.
Priced at $39,999, the Diva Utopia promises an audiophile experience without the clutter of traditional high-end systems. But does it live up to its price tag and ambitious design goals? Let’s explore.
At first glance, the Diva Utopia looks like a traditional floor-standing speaker, but its beauty lies in its all-in-one design. Unlike passive speakers that require multiple components, the Diva Utopia integrates everything needed for top-tier audio performance right within its sleek enclosures. The system includes a streamer, multiple DACs, electronic crossovers, DSP for driver and room correction, and wireless connectivity, eliminating the need for most external components. Each speaker also houses Class A/B amplification, with 400 watts of total power spread across the tweeters, midrange drivers, and side-firing woofers.
The Diva Utopia's portless design is made from a high-density polymer that provides excellent rigidity, minimizing vibrations and resonance. The Diva Utopia also integrates seamlessly with home control systems like Crestron, HomeKit, and voice assistants like Google Assistant and Siri.
Despite being an all-in-one system, the Diva Utopia is capable of exceptional sound quality, rivaling many traditional, component-based systems. During a demonstration in New York City, the speakers impressed with their ability to deliver natural transient attack and decay, traits often associated with more specialized equipment like electrostatics or horns. These characteristics are a testament to the speaker’s finely tuned electronic crossovers and amplification.
The Diva Utopia excels in imaging as well, offering a coherent soundstage that remains consistent even when listening off-axis. This is especially appealing for group listening situations, making the system more versatile than traditional stereo setups that confine the “sweet spot” to a narrow listening area.

There's even an analog input for vinyl enthusiasts, although the signal is digitized before being processed.
